The danger in limiting technology

Technology plays a key role in all of our lives, nearly all the time. Sometimes that role is vital. And sometimes, sadly, it falls short. This happened recently to a dear friend and fan, Mike May, whose son went missing while skiing last month — and though traditional SAR (search and rescue) methods were impressive, they ultimately were not enough to find Carson. Unfortunately, several technologies could not be deployed quickly because of privacy limitations, jurisdictional issues and lack of prompt availability. In his son’s memoriam, Mike is on a mission to provide new technology solutions early on in a search to help improve chances of recovery.

In an effort to aid the May family in their healing, we’ve joined them in their mission to ensure that future search teams are aware of, and have quick access to, state of the art SAR technology tools. If you’d like to help along with us, here’s the best way to do so:

Step 1


Important: make sure your printer is scaled to 100% on a standard 8.5” x 11” page.

Step 2

Cut out the measuring tool using the dotted line as a guide.

Step 3

Hold the left side (L) behind your left ear and stretch the tool across the back of your head (toward your right ear).

Step 4

If the white section of the sizing tool is touching your right ear, choose Trekz Titanium Mini.

If the the orange section of the sizing tool is touching your right ear, choose Trekz Titanium.
