Quick Hiking Tips for National Take A Hike Day

November 17th marks National Take a Hike Day! In honor of this holiday, we encourage you to get outside today and celebrate. Hiking is a great way to enjoy the outdoor scenery while breakin’ a sweat. Check out our quick tips, lace up your boots, throw on your AfterShokz and find a trail near you!

Know Your Skill Level

It’s important to assess yourself and know which trails you’re capable of completing. If you’re a first-timer, stick to an easier trail. If more advanced, tackle some tougher terrain. Make sure whichever path you’re on, you are having fun!

Nourish Yourself Properly

Be sure to bring food and water. We suggest bringing a stainless steel water bottle so your water stays cold and you’re ditching the plastic. Protein bars or trail mix are a great snack to grab on-the-go.

Pack Accordingly

Check the weather before heading out, and grab the right gear. It’s always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to weather conditions. Sunscreen, bug spray, rain gear, and a first aid kit are great items to always keep on you.

Let Friends Know

Whether you’re hiking alone or with others, let someone know you’re going on a hike. Be sure to specify which trails you’ll be hiking and your anticipated finish time. That way if something happens, you can easily be found.

If you’re hitting the trails today, share your pictures with us by tagging @AfterShokz on social. Here are some pics of our #ShokzSquad rockin’ AfterShokz while on a hike.
