Q&A with NASCAR Driver Chase Elliott

February 15, 2019

If you thought sponsoring one NASCAR driver in the Daytona 500 was cool, then you’ll be super excited to hear that we’ve added a second. Pretty awesome, huh? We’re proud to be sponsoring NASCAR driver Chase Elliott in the Xfinity Series at Daytona this weekend. Tune into Fox Sports 1 at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday and look out for the JR Motorsports No. 8 AfterShokz Chevrolet.

Chase has a busy weekend of races ahead of him in Daytona, but we caught up with him before the craziness for a quick Q&A.

AfterShokz: When did you first start racing and did you know immediately that you wanted to race professionally?

Chase: From the time I was a kid, I always had the desire to race, and I'm very fortunate to have had some good opportunities to pursue professionally.

AfterShokz: What’s the best piece of advice you have received in the sport?

Chase: Don’t worry about everybody else.

AfterShokz: What’s it like following in your dad’s footsteps?

Chase: It’s just cool to share such a great passion for the same thing.

AfterShokz: What’s your most memorable race?

Chase: Watkins Glen 2018

AfterShokz: Who do you look up to in the sport?

Chase: Jimmie Johnson

AfterShokz: What is the hardest part about the sport?

Chase: Handling all the sponsorship and race obligations and time away from home.

AfterShokz: Do you have any pre-race routines or superstitions?

Chase: I like to have a good lunch before a race, but no superstitions.

AfterShokz: What’s your favorite type of music to listen to pre-race?

Chase: Country

AfterShokz: How has AfterShokz changed how you listen to music?

Chase: It has opened the doors to listening to music while I exercise in a much safer, more comfortable way.

AfterShokz: What are some ways you relax after a big race?

Chase: I love to unwind by watching movies.

AfterShokz: What do you do for fun when you’re not racing?
